Sara Hammond

Public Affairs Manager,
University of Arizona

A native of Central Ohio, Hammond is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a BA in Journalism. She attended graduate school at the University of Southern Maine where she was enrolled in the New England Studies program – until she decided to return to Tucson in 1993.

Hammond has worked as a daily news reporter in Maine and Arizona, and as a public relations/communications professional for the utility industry in Maine and in aerospace/defense in Arizona.

The Phoenix Mars Mission is a communicator’s dream job – media from around the world are interested in the science that will be conducted from the UA in the spring/summer of 2008.
