Mars Layered Deposits
Mars Location This image is a springtime view of frost-covered layers in the Martian polar cap, which are thought to be a mixture of dust, ice, and possibly sand. Although the origin of these layers is unknown, they may be related to climate cycles on Mars that are similar to Earth's ice ages.
